Continuing my Project 12 catchup posts.
For November - one of our CHAllenges was to use a doily -- I am not too big on doilies in general but my Silhouette cuts some awesome ones that aren't too girly, floraly looking for my generally masculine themed projects. So I slipped one in here. I am addicted to this glimmery cardstock for my Silhouette!
For this one -- I blew off the November sketch which I found overwhelming with it's HUGE number of photos! and used the August sketch instead. Since I kind of blew off the sketch back in August, it doesn't look too much the same. Most of the product here is Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg . I've spent most of the last week reorganizing my stash so I am definitely currently more aware of some of these fabulous older lines I've been hoarding away! This seemed perfect for November, especially when paired with that Swiss Dot Bazzil.
Journal reads:
November was a fairly routine month at our house. I kept busy with choir practice and getting ready for the Holiday concert. For [Oldest]'s birthday gift we went to the Army/Air Force Game (Go AIR FORCE!) (in the freezing cold). We celebrated thanksgiving with [my Aunt and Uncle]. The boys enjoyed the Cubanapolis. [Little Guy] sang with the Pioneers in church Thanksgiving week. It was a fantastic month!
(See how I'm trying hard not to start my P12 journals with "This month was so busy!" or some variant thereof?)

Catching Up on Project 12 - October 2011
I haven't done any regular scrapping in a long time! I've spent the last month working on Journal Your Christmas and today I finally caught up on Project 12 from October, November and December of 2011!
In need of inspiration I was so excited to see the CHA-CHAllenges up at Studio Calico this weekend! They really got me moving!
For October - I incorporated a CHAllenge to use a journal card -- I always have journaling on P12 but a lot of the time I use a strip of a striped paper rather than a journal card. More Silhouette fun here:
For this one I used a lot of DCWV's The Natural Stack -- I love the coppery colors in this stack! I felt like they had a fabulous Autumn Feeling. I didn't follow the sketch too closely for this one as I mostly had photos of the wrong orientation. I am really pleased with this finished product. Those felt leaves from Creative Impressions and the Martha Stewart Washi really added a lot of dimension to this.
Journal reads:
The first snow swept in during early October but the rest of the month the weather was gorgeous (mostly.) I can hardly believe that this month saw [Oldest] turn 16! His birthday gifts included a Bronco jersey, a Bronco pillow pet and Air Force tickets. Unfortunately sickness swept through our house during Fall break so we didn't get to do so much. We did visit the pumpkin patch, hiked with the Tiger Cubs, went to Fox Run, and more. And of course, the Halloween fun of carving pumpkins, going to Boo at the Zoo, a party with friends and of course, 'tricks and treats'.
The good news is --that should free me up for 'regular scrapping!' and hey - also, Project 12 for 2011 is DONE!!! TWO WHOLE YEARS OF P12!! WOOHOO! Tomorrow, I'll share November with you!

Project 12: September!
September dashed away, we're more than halfway through October... I think it's time for this month's installment of Project 12!
Our photos from September include - DH, Me and the younger two at the USAFA vs. TCU game (Oldest took the photo), Boys with my dad on my Dad's birthday, Outdoor fun, A sidewalk chalk TARDIS.
Journalling talks about how we got into our school routines this month and didn't do a lot of big activities. As I am nearing the end of year 2 of this project, I am attempting to STOP starting every month's journalling with "[this month]was so busy!"
This month I once again went off-sketch for the photo sizes and placements, but this layout definitely started with the Beautiful sketch from Becky Fleck for September. The products here are mostly Studio Calico's State Fair Line.

Project 12: August
Another month gone by -- and documented with Project 12 !
Photos this month -- recognition of Oldest's Eagle Scout service project by local unit (he was presented with a flag flown overseas and a number of coins -- SUCH an enormous honor!), Big Giant Bubbles, the Little Guy at the Raingutter Regatta, First Day of School, and at a Court of Honor with my parents.
I had these photos printed and sitting out on my table for a while. I was in a bit of a scrap slump - luckily the best way out of a scrap slump for me is a GREAT sketch! Every month Scrapbooks and Cards Today provides a Beautiful sketch from Becky Fleck for every month's project! I had to wrestle a bit with this one as I had more photos than it called for and mostly portrait photos when it called for landscape.
Plus the Lime Rickey finally got me thinking bright, funky, summery fun!

Project 12: July
Another month has slipped by, and now it's time to document it! with Project 12 !
Photos this month -- popsicles with friends in the back yard, me and oldest at Summer Camp, Middle Child strutting it on the lakefront in Georgia, All three on the beach, Little Guy playing with a couple of sparklers, All three boys out on a canoe, and a pic of the day we picked up Middle and headed for Cheesecake Factory.
Since I did the red-white and blue and stars thing for my June layout, I decided to go with a beachier theme for July... since we spent a significant portion of July in Florida, it seemed to work. The papers here are Fancy Pants Beach Bum. Once again, I have a 6x6 pad and a sheet of stickers to work with from the original line. The stamps are older Fancy Pants (Summer Soiree)
I'm more than halfway through my SECOND year of Project 12 - but you can jump in and start any old time! Every month Scrapbooks and Cards Today provides a Beautiful sketch from Becky Fleck to inspire the creation of a layout for the month. (Last month I even won a prize drawing - the Ladybug Garden Collection from Doodlebug Designs!) This doesn't replace my usual event scrapbooking but provides a glance back. Here's my other layouts from 2011:

Project 12: June 2011
FINALLY, I have a Project 12 page for you guys!
For this month, the photos are focused on the Little Guy who was home all month, not the older two, who weren't. We've got a photo from swim lessons (where the Little Guy made remarkable progress!), one from Vacation Bible School, one from Oldest's Explorer Post trip to California, one of me indulging in Dole Whip - in my own kitchen!, and one of the Little Guy wishing farewell to our dear friends - who moved away to New York this month.
The papers for this one are all Close to My Heart... I had such fun with this product at my monthly stamp club that I decided to keep using it... which resulted in a June layout in red, white and blue with stars - now, whatever will I do for July? Oh well, it'll be fun!
We're halfway through the year, so let's take a peek at layouts past:

Project 12: April!
Time for another month of Project 12
Products: Cardstock: Coredinations (background), DCWV (mat); Patterned Papers Cosmo Cricket Earth Love, Die Cut Embellishments: Crate Paper, Alphas: Sasafrass Lass, Journalling block: October Afternoon sticker packaging, Shaped Journal papers: Making Memories
This is my April LO (as indicated by the pithy title "April") (see also January, February and March if you missed them) This project continues to be fantastic for me! I'm loving working on it. I feel like my journaling for it is really stilted and dreadful but OH WELL. I'm getting this year documented in a fun new way!
Pictured here: DH's birthday, Little Guy dipping eggs, ME at the Space Symposium, Oldest at a Scout function, Middle Child's Pinewood Derby (he won 4th place and is headed for District derby!) There was so much going on this month, can't wait to do that 'actual scrapping'.

March Project 12!
I did a little scrapping yesterday! Finished up my Project 12 Layout for March! (see also January and February if you missed them) I'm loving these layout and the sketches for them!
For March you get pics of -- Oldest being awarded his Varsity letter in Wrestling! Middle-child's birthday party. The Little Guy licking a spatula of pumpkin bread batter. Oldest showing off an early Easter gift from his Nana. Middle Child and my husband tackling the making of Pinewood Derby cars and a lovely mountain view from our Spring Break adventure drive.
Products: Paper: My Minds Eye, Making Memories, Stock: DCWV; flowers: primas; stitching rub ons: Martha Stewart; Alphas: October Afternoon and Making Memories, Not sure on the corkboard or ric-rack
And here's another fun Layout. That's the Little Guy at the Children's Museum (on the day of the horrific hail damage!) Sporting fancy specs he made himself! Building with giant blocks, straw painting and wearing a carrot costume -- all in a day's play at the museum!
The page is from an AC Sketch that was posted in the Serendipity Sketch forum this month. Totally simple, and as I was working on it I kept thinking "Isn't this a little plain?" but then I added those little fussy cut words and critters and it all came together! Very happy with it!
Products: Paper: All DCWV mostly from Doodlin' Around Stack, the only other thing on the LO is the alphas, you'd think I'd be sure on those but they're and older Superhero line.

Catching Up...
So, this year, at the suggestion of my pal Sus, I decided to participate in Project 12.

I have to admit -- I am intimidated by Project 365 -- taking a photo every day. Yes, I take a zillion photos, certainly more than 365 a year... but EVERY DAY... a little overwhleming. And even more overwhelming if I consider trying to scrap them!
There are other great projects with once a week commitments... still feeling a little overwhelming.
When I first read about Project 12, I knew it was the right project for me to try!
The Project 12 challenge is simple. The idea is to create a layout on a monthly basis which recaps what you’ve been doing. Whether you took 31 photos, no photos, or 100 photos, simply choose your favorites that best described what you were doing that month, and create a layout.
Plus... A monthly sketch from Becky Fleck? What's not to love about that??
So, I immediately decided to do this... then didn't do anything in January.
But I've decided to catch up. So, here's January!
Here's Becky's gorgeous sketch:
And here's my take on it:
I had a lot of fun with this!!
Products: Paper: DCWV and Basic Grey, Stamps: Close to My Heart, Embellishments K& Company -- ribbons? Not sure
Feb's pictures are printed, and cropped and ready to be put on a layout, hope to get it done tonight or tomorrow! Then I'll be caught up -- until, you know, March is over and I've procrastinated again!
